Mission & Purpose

Thrive City is a community-based organization purposing to provide opportunity for ALL people to thrive together. The goal of Thrive City is to improve the likelihood of at-risk youth to be academically, socially, and personally successful so they are ready for life beyond the high school experience, surrounded by and connected to positive family and community support.

Thrive City accomplishes this mission in partnership with local businesses, organizations, and individuals to eliminate barriers and promote ongoing positive involvement as a community contributor. Utilizing the From Failing to Thriving curriculum, participants explore a five-step process of going from Rock Bottom to Becoming a Contributor while traveling throughout the city, engaging in experiential learning, critical thinking, and personal application.

The Thrive City center will run the From Failing to Thriving program as an afterschool opportunity for at-risk youth while also providing complementary services, including counseling (mental health and chemical dependency), college and career support, access to local internships, mentors, family integration, and a weekly activities center with barista training, community garden project, graphic design, skate-boarding, and more.

This corporation is organized exclusively for charitable, literary, and educational purposes, including for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or any corresponding section of any future federal tax code.
